Kanyakumary

Kanyakumari, once referred as the Alexandria of the east is the southern most point of India where the Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and Bay of Bangal meet. The multi-colored sand, a unique opportunity of watching the Sun set and Moon rise simultaneously on a full moon day, the Vivekananda Memorial built on rock jutting out from the sea about 200 meters offshore etc are some of the main attractions.

Some other nearby attractions are the Kumari amman Temple, Vattakittai the circular fort of the 18th century overlooking the sea, Suchindram Temple famous for the musical pillars and Padmanabhapuram Palace where antiques including the armory of the 18th century are displayed.
